Expired Medications Found at 'Zorak' Center: What Violations Have Occurred
According to 'Zhoghvorud' daily, violations of human rights have been discovered at the 'Zorak' care center for individuals with mental health issues. The Armenian Ombudsman’s office conducted investigations there.
Expired medications were found in the dental room of the center. In a conversation with 'Zhoghvorud', the director of 'Zorak', Samvel Khachatryan, stated that these deficiencies have been addressed, but he also raised one particular issue during the discussion.
It turns out that the tenders announced for the procurement of medications for the care center have failed, as the required quantities are too small, leading participants to withdraw from the bidding process. 'We call the pharmacies, ask them to participate, but they refuse, saying the quantity is too low, and it’s a negligible amount,' he explained. 'Benefactors bring contributions, and we ask them to provide these two medications, but later we register it with the accounting department as a donation.'
