Significant Vote: Why Did 'My Step' MPs Not Ask Many Questions to Vahe Grigoryan? Was Everything Predetermined?

Yesterday, Vahe Grigoryan was elected as a judge of the Constitutional Court with a vote ratio of 99 in favor and 22 against. Due to the absences from the 'My Step' faction, which consists of 88 members, at least 11 MPs from the opposition factions, the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and the Bright Armenia Party (LHK), voted in favor of Grigoryan's candidacy despite criticisms.

The members of the 'My Step' faction were noticeably passive yesterday. For instance, only 9 MPs registered to ask questions to the candidate when the previous candidates had 19 MPs questioning them, the majority of whom were from 'My Step', and only 4 did so yesterday.

In response to 'Hayastani Zhamanak' daily’s inquiry about whether this situation indicated that the outcome was predetermined, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, replied: 'In the 7th session of the National Assembly, nothing is predetermined from the start. However, there is a positive attitude within the 'My Step' faction regarding his candidacy, so there is nothing to hide.'
