“In the first phase, 10 families in the most hazardous condition will receive compensation from the reserve fund of the 2019 state budget. In the second phase, an additional 49 families in risky situations will also be compensated; their needs will be assessed in parallel, and in the third phase, we will complete the program with the prospect of compensation for another 47 families,” the governor stated during the meeting with locals.
In the coming 2-3 weeks, a working group will be formed consisting of representatives from the provincial urban development department, the State Committee on Urban Development, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Voghjaberd community administration. An expert team will start working on assessing the needs of the residents of the landslide zone.
