Charges Filed Against 27-Year-Old for Major Theft
The investigation by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan has concluded the pre-trial proceedings related to a case of major theft. Charges have been filed against a 27-year-old individual.
According to the data obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, on February 6, 2019, at around 11:20 PM, the person who committed the alleged crime intentionally struck and broke the glass door of a mobile phone store located on Komitas Avenue in Yerevan with a stone, illegally entered the premises, and stole various models of mobile phones, causing damages amounting to 1,510,000 AMD.
Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, the 27-year-old resident of Yerevan has been charged under the second paragraph of Article 177 (parts 2 and 3) and Article 185, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. As a precautionary measure, a signed commitment not to leave has been chosen.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of pre-trial proceedings, with an indictment conclusion.
