Charges Filed Against the Village Head of Mrgashen for Embezzlement

The investigation by the Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia regarding the embezzlement by the head of the Mrgashen community using his official position has been completed. The head has been charged.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that according to the data obtained during the investigation, the head of the Mrgashen community, who has held the position since 2008, embezzled large sums received legally from several community residents and due for deposit into the community budget between 2016 and 2018.

Based on a combination of sufficient evidence, the head of the Mrgashen community has been charged under points 1 and 3 of part 2 of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code. As a preventive measure, a non-departure signature has been chosen for him. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
