87,194,350 AMD Environmental Damage Calculated by the Inspection Body
The Environmental and Mining Inspection Body reported that as a result of inspections, rounds, and investigation of administrative proceedings, a total of 33 violations were identified, leading to the calculation of environmental damage amounting to 87,194,350 AMD. Within this, a fine of 1,250,000 AMD was imposed on 17 cases.
Specifically, in the area of plant protection:
19 cases of violations were recorded, with environmental damage calculated at 87,154,350 AMD in 17 of these cases, while fines of 250,000 AMD were imposed in 3 cases. In Lori, for illegal logging in 2 cases (11 common ash, 2 walnut, 3 poplar, 3 oak), a damage of 1,749,000 AMD was calculated, and for illegal transportation of wood in 2 cases (6.5 cubic meters of firewood), damage of 117,000 AMD was calculated. Previously identified illegal logging in 1 case (1 common ash, 1 wind-fallen common ash) resulted in a fine of 100,000 AMD, and illegal transportation of wood in 1 case (7.37 firewood) resulted in a fine of 50,000 AMD.
In Tavush, for illegal logging in 5 cases (1,015 common ash, 20 poplar, 3 pine, 20 willow, 31 oak, 3 walnut, 5 pear), environmental damage was calculated at 83,112,250 AMD, and for illegal transportation of wood in 1 case (1.35 cubic meters of firewood), damage was calculated at 48,600 AMD.
In Gegharkunik, for illegal logging in 4 cases (16 hawthorn, 1 walnut, 3 dry oak), environmental damage was calculated at 1,851,500 AMD, and for illegal transportation of wood in 1 case (1.7 cubic meters of firewood), damage was calculated at 61,200 AMD.
In Yerevan, an illegal cutting of grapevines in 1 case (2 grapevines) resulted in damage of 150,000 AMD.
In Syunik, for illegal transportation of wood in 1 case (1.5 cubic meters of firewood), environmental damage amounting to 64,800 AMD was calculated, and a fine of 100,000 AMD was imposed.
In the area of wildlife protection:
7 cases of violations were recorded, leading to a fine of 550,000 AMD. In Shirak, for illegal fishing in 1 case (1 homemade fishing device seized, 11 fish of 1.2 kg weight released alive into the Akhuryan River), a fine of 50,000 AMD was imposed. In Gegharkunik, a fine of 50,000 AMD was imposed for a previously identified attempt at illegal fishing.
In Lori, a total of 5 cases of previously identified illegal hunting (1 eagle, 3 kg of carp and hazel fish, 1 common teal, 5 black-tailed gulls, 1 fox) resulted in fines totaling 450,000 AMD.
In the areas of air and water protection, waste management, land use, and preservation:
2 cases of violations were recorded, with environmental damage calculated at 40,000 AMD in 1 case, and fines of 200,000 AMD were imposed in 2 cases. Specifically, in Kotayk, for the illegal transportation of fertile soil in 1 case, damage was calculated at 40,000 AMD, and a fine of 50,000 AMD was imposed. For conducting water withdrawal without a proper water use permit in 1 case, a fine of 150,000 AMD was imposed.
For failing to present calculations of environmental tax and unified fee for nature management on time, a fine of 50,000 AMD was imposed for 1 case, and for failure to submit administrative statistical reports in 4 cases, fines totaling 200,000 AMD were imposed.
During the specified period, a total of 1,408,298 AMD was transferred to the state budget.
