Paylan Visits Armenian Woman Attacked in Istanbul's Samatya Neighborhood
Karo Paylan, an Armenian MP from Turkey's opposition pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party, met with the family of an Armenian woman named Arpine who was attacked in Istanbul's Samatya neighborhood, as reported by ErmeniHaber.
Regarding the meeting, Paylan made a post on his Twitter account, stating: "An Armenian woman was attacked on May 31 in Samatya due to hate. The assailants have not yet been arrested. Yesterday, when I visited their family, they said they had decided to leave Turkey. I could not tell them, ‘Don’t go.’ The perpetrators have no shame, but I feel shame on behalf of my country."
It is recalled that on May 31, unidentified individuals forcibly entered Arpine's residence and stabbed her. They then fled, shouting, 'this is just the beginning.' An investigation has been launched in connection with the incident.
