Vahe Grigoryan Meets with LHK Parliament Members: What Concerns Does Marukyan Have?

Vahe Grigoryan, nominated for a second time as a member of the Constitutional Court by President Armen Sarkissian, met today with parliament members of the LHK party, where he presented his views.

After the meeting, Grigoryan stated that he does not know if LHK members will support his nomination or not.

Regarding LHK's position, the party's president, Edmon Marukyan, expressed two concerns about Grigoryan's nomination. The first relates to the close ties between the candidate and representatives of the ruling political force. Marukyan believes that due to this factor, Grigoryan may be constrained in his role.

The second concern raised by Marukyan pertains to the nomination itself. Specifically, he noted that according to LHK's stance, the same candidate cannot be nominated twice. However, this issue is contentious, as another group of legal experts argues that it is permissible.
