Armenian Foreign Ministry Welcomes International Response to Armenian Genocide
The House of Representatives of the Netherlands adopted a nearly unanimous resolution on June 11, condemning the labeling of the Armenian Genocide victims by the President of Turkey on April 24. The resolution also obliges the government to inform Turkish authorities of this position.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry reacted to the adoption of the resolution: “We welcome the international response to the Armenian Genocide against the backdrop of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's denialist views. With this decision, the Netherlands and its members of parliament once again demonstrated their principled stance on human rights and the prevention of genocide,” the statement reads.
