Transport Company of Route 46 Only Warned, Says Joseph Kubatyan

The transport company serving Route 46 has only been warned; should such incidents occur again, the municipality has the right to terminate the contract with the transportation company, stated Joseph Kubatyan, head of the Information Department of the Yerevan Municipality, in response to a question from Tert.am regarding whether the company would face accountability given that the police reported the offending driver did not possess a valid driver's license.

“Until the introduction of the new transportation system, the Yerevan Municipality refrains from terminating contracts with passenger transporters and limits itself to warnings, as such drastic measures would only worsen the existing transportation network,” Kubatyan emphasized.

It is worth noting that the spokesperson for the Yerevan Municipality, Hakob Karapetyan, had informed that a representative of the company servicing the route was invited to the transportation department today to discuss the behavior of the driver in the video that circulated the day before. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to dismiss the offending driver from his position.
