Earthquake in Iran Felt in Syunik Region
On June 8, at 04:34 local time (00:34 GMT), an earthquake was recorded by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations. The epicenter was located at geographical coordinates 38.350° N latitude and 45.610° E longitude, 16 km southwest of Marand city, Iran, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 3.7. The intensity of the tremor at the epicenter was measured at 5 on the Richter scale.
According to preliminary information, the earthquake was felt in the territory of Armenia, particularly in the city of Agarak, and in the villages of Alvank and Shvanidzor in the Syunik region, with an intensity of 2-3.
