VIDEO: Judges Have Conditions
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, following Prime Minister N. Pashinyan's announcement about vetting judges, active discussions have begun within the judicial system.
As per the information received by the "Zhoghovurd" daily, judges with about 10 years of work experience, as well as those who will retire in a year, have discussed the fairness of their vetting. Moreover, they have expressed opinions on whether it is just to undergo a new examination after years of service in the judicial system.
Many judges, who have over 10 years of experience, have stated during internal discussions that they are prepared to submit resignation letters, but only if they are promised a pension. If a pension is not to be granted, they question why they should resign and leave.
Among the judges approaching retirement is Manushak Petrosyan, a judge at the RA Court of Appeals, who told "Zhoghovurd" newspaper: "I am going into retirement, but I am not going as if I don’t care what happens afterwards; on the contrary, I am very concerned about leaving, worried for my colleagues."
