In a Few Years, Armenia Will Return to a Progressive Income Tax System: My Step Alliance
The flat income tax rate will not last forever. In a few years, Armenia will return to a progressive income tax system. This announcement was made by Babken Tunyan, a member of the My Step alliance, during the extraordinary session of the National Assembly on June 7, where changes to the Tax Code were discussed.
However, according to the deputy, this will happen when tax administration reaches a level where the term 'income tax' is not perceived solely as 'citizens' salaries.'
“The transition to a progressive income tax will only be possible when it becomes clear who earns how much, when everyone's income becomes known,” Tunyan stated.
