Preparation for the Assassination of a State Official; Criminal Case Launched by NSS

The National Security Service's investigative department has initiated a criminal case under Articles 35-305, 235, and 236 (part 2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

This case concerns Stepan S., a resident of one of the villages in the Ararat province, who, in 2001, prepared for the assassination of a state official.

For that purpose, a group was formed, and Stepan S., along with members of the group, acquired explosive materials and devices; however, the crime was not carried out to completion.
