The City Hall's Scheme: Sanitek Will Pay for New KamAZ Trucks
The Yerevan City Hall, which has acquired five KamAZ garbage collection trucks to carry out waste management through a community governance agency, has decided to charge the cost of the next batch of KamAZ trucks to Sanitek. This was reported by Hraparak.
The mechanism is as follows: the City Hall sends a "compliance notification" to Sanitek, indicating the address where there is a waste collection issue, and Sanitek is required to remove the garbage and send photographs to the City Hall to prove that the area has been cleaned. If no photographs are sent, a "failure act" is drafted, based on which Sanitek faces fines.
Moreover, the amount of the fines increases on a progressive basis; previous fines were 13 million drams, followed by 26 million drams, and the next one is likely to be an even larger sum. Through these fines, City Hall is attempting to recover the cost of the KamAZ trucks from Sanitek.
