Disagreements Between Arsen Torosyan and Anna Hakobyan?
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: Health Minister Arsen Torosyan was asked about information suggesting that his disagreements are more with Anna Hakobyan, the head of the "My Step" charitable foundation, rather than with Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. Specifically, the disagreements revolve around the ‘tobacco industry' and the unacceptable practice of soliciting charitable donations.
He stated, "Many large global anti-cancer organizations point out that there should be no collaboration with the tobacco industry, and expecting any funding will only improve their positive image."
It seems the foundation did not fully grasp this perspective, leading to significant tension in their relationship. When asked if discussions were ongoing about appointing Hovhannes Ghazaryan, the director of the "My Step" foundation, as health minister, he responded simply, "Yes." Furthermore, he was questioned about his readiness to leave his position: "I don’t see any problems, everything is going quite smoothly."
