The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, delivered a speech during a meeting with his supporters yesterday, on May 28. The recording of the event was shared on his unofficial Facebook page.

“About ten years ago, I thought that the main events of my life were behind me, and that I was expecting a very predictable, calm continuation of life; I was mistaken. I also thought that the trials of my life—both possible and impossible—were in the past, and I was wrong again. Prison deprives you of freedom, but only in the physical sense; no prison can limit your freedom of thought or will. On the contrary, it creates a very serious and new motivation to move forward, to fight, and I am pleased to see that I am not fighting alone. There is a very active, interesting team with which we will move forward and there will be a necessary path to new victories. I want to express my gratitude to all of you for your support. To be honest, a year ago, I did not think that there would be so much to do ahead,” said Robert Kocharian.

He also noted that although the meeting with supporters coincided with the Day of the First Republic, it carries its own significance.
