Has Mihran Poghosyan Been Released from Detention in Russia?
According to reliable sources from 168.am, the Russian law enforcement system has released Mihran Poghosyan, the former head of the State Revenue Committee, from detention and has placed him under house arrest until his application for political asylum is finally resolved.
It is noteworthy that this occurred before a possible meeting between Pashinyan and Putin, and our authorities have concealed this fact during this time.
Recall that Mihran Poghosyan, who is known for a offshore scandal, is involved as an accused in a criminal case under Article 179, Part 3, Point 1 and Article 308, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia for committing socially dangerous acts. He allegedly misappropriated a particularly large property by misusing his official position and misused his official powers, leading to severe consequences. On April 13, 2019, a motion was filed by the investigator of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan to choose detention as a measure of restraint against Mihran Poghosyan.
