Turkey Redirects All Resources to Weapons Purchases, Says Karo Paylan

Armenian MP Karo Paylan from Turkey's pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party organized a press conference in parliament. During the conference, he also addressed the issue of Russian S-400 air defense systems, which are set to be delivered to Ankara this summer. This was reported by Ermenihaber.

"The S-400s are missile systems worth $2.5 billion. It is said that Turkey will purchase an additional 10 units of these air defense systems. Erdoğan states that an extra $25 billion will be allocated for weapons purchases. It is a major concern that all these resources are being directed towards buying weapons and preparing for war," Paylan said. He emphasized that Turkey is increasing its military spending.

Paylan specified that if security expenditures were $50 billion four years ago, they now reach $150 billion.

"Turkey must renounce the S-400s and cancel the contract regarding them," the MP added.
