Personnel Changes Expected in Police Department, Says Osipyan
On May 25, an operational consultation was held in the police department, chaired by the Chief of Police of Armenia, Valeriy Osipyan. This was reported by the police press service.
Members of the board, heads of the central administration, as well as heads of territorial departments and divisions participated in the meeting.
Valeriy Osipyan spoke about crime and crime-solving statistics. He emphasized the need for effective efforts to resolve previously committed crimes. He instructed the police to speak with victims once more to uncover new details that could aid in solving the crimes.
The Chief of Police also ordered the intensification of efforts to detect illegally held weapons and ammunition, as well as incidents of drug trafficking, and to locate fugitives.
Osipyan also noted that a summary of the police's work over the past six months would be completed soon. Following this summary, personnel changes will be implemented in units that exhibit negative results.
The Chief of Police expressed gratitude to the officers for their enhanced service on the day of “Last Bell,” stating that thanks to their diligent service, no incidents or accidents involving graduates occurred on that day.
Moreover, other issues related to operational activities were discussed during the consultation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, several police officers were awarded monetary incentives for their contributions to the resolution of various criminal cases by the order of the Chief of Police.
