Criminal Authorities to be Transferred from Prison to Yerevan-Center Penitentiary

Today, the newspaper "Zhamanak" reported that criminal authorities will serve their sentences in the NSS isolation unit. The authorities have decided to isolate the "thieves-in-law" from other inmates to prevent them from exerting influence over prisons and prisoners.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Nona Navikyan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service, confirmed the news: "The information is accurate; similar changes occur regularly in penitentiary institutions. Previously, prisoners were also transferred from one facility to another." When asked how long this decision has been in effect and how many inmates have been transferred, Navikyan replied, "It has been two days already, but we do not provide specific numbers; I can't give a figure."

It should be noted that the inmates are being transferred to the "Yerevan-Center" penitentiary facility, which operates under the Ministry of Justice and is located in the NSS building.
