Marutyan Aims to File a Case Against Kamo Areyan: Reports
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that Deputy Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan was coordinating the communal services sector in Yerevan (electricity, gas, waste collection, sanitation, water supply, etc.). Recently, he was stripped of significant authority as the coordination of communal services was handed over to Kamo Areyan, the former deputy mayor and now advisor to the mayor.
Historically, a mayor's advisor has never taken on the responsibilities of the mayor's first deputy.
According to our sources, this decision was not made by Hayk Marutyan, who is dissatisfied with it, but rather by Nikol Pashinyan. The Prime Minister hopes that the experienced Areyan will prevent the situation from collapsing completely. Meanwhile, the city hall and Marutyan have been working tirelessly to ensure that a criminal case is filed against Kamo Areyan, as a large number of somewhat questionable documents have been sent to the relevant authorities.
