Speed Camera Business Cannot Exist: Traffic Police Clarification
The entire property used by the Road Police—speed cameras, surveillance cameras, patrol cars, and the equipment installed in them—is state-owned, said Deputy Chief of the RA Road Police Armen Chilingaryan in a conversation with journalists, addressing the question of whether a speed camera business exists in Armenia.
"The concept of a speed camera business cannot exist. It is a different matter that the speed cameras installed on the roads and the cameras located in Yerevan are under entrusted management. But the assertion that this is a speed camera business does not correspond to reality," noted Chilingaryan.
Referring to the entrusted manager of the speed cameras, the deputy chief of the Road Police mentioned that the entrusted manager is the company "Security Dream."
Chilingaryan also emphasized that it was the previous government that signed the contract with this company, not the Road Police.
