Armenia Cannot Extradite Israeli Citizen Meri Aghajanyan

Armenia will not extradite Israeli citizen Meri Aghajanyan, who has been sentenced to imprisonment in Israel for fraud.

In the National Assembly, Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalanyan reminded that the constitution prohibits the extradition of Armenian citizens.

“We are currently working in that direction, focusing on mutual recognition of judicial acts. If such an opportunity arises, naturally, the judicial act must be recognized. At this moment, there can be no talk of extradition. It is prohibited to extradite Armenian citizens to other countries,” emphasized Artak Zeynalanyan.

It should be noted that the Armenian police had reported the arrest of Israeli citizen Meri Aghajanyan at Zvartnots Airport, who was found guilty of committing fraud in Israel.
