Photographs. The façade of the building at 13 Khorenatsi Street will be restored with a new approach, City Hall

The building located at 13 Khorenatsi Street, adjacent to the "Shirak" hotel, was partially dismantled back in 2004, retaining only its façade. In this regard, the Yerevan City Hall issued a statement.

“Initially, after the building was privatized in 2004, the owners did not plan to preserve the façade in the projects presented. The building is not a monument, nor is it included in the list of architecturally valuable façades in Yerevan,” the statement said.

In 2017, the land was acquired by ArmSwiss Properties LLC, which applied to the Yerevan City Hall for permission to dismantle the half-destroyed façade and construct a business center with underground levels on the site.

Currently, the dismantling works are being carried out according to the project and based on the demolition permit issued on February 8, 2019. Notably, the business center’s design proposal includes a plan to restore the subject façade with a new approach, making it a component of the complex’s interior.

It should be mentioned that over the decades, the façade has deteriorated due to precipitation.
