Georgia Needs Russian Gas
The authorities of Georgia are negotiating to purchase Russian gas. This is reported by the "Vzglyad" publication, adding that the Georgian side does not believe that an agreement with the Russians will be reached easily.
According to Georgian authorities, negotiations with the Russian supplier will allow for the maintenance of energy independence and security, as well as the implementation of diversification.
It should be noted that Georgia is already receiving gas from Russia. This refers to the 10 percent of gas supplied to Armenia, which Georgia receives as a transit fee. However, a year ago it was decided that Tbilisi would take the transit fee in cash rather than in gas.
Earlier, it was reported that the entirety of Georgia's gas supply is fulfilled by Azerbaijani deliveries.
