General Manvel Grigoryan Sues Businesswoman Silva Hamardzumyan

Former Armenian National Assembly member, General Manvel Grigoryan, has filed a lawsuit against businesswoman Silva Hamardzumyan, according to reports from Haykakan Zhamanak.

The legal complaint was submitted to the court on January 29. Grigoryan is seeking compensation for damage to his honor and dignity from Hamardzumyan. The lawsuit has been assigned to Judge Gayane Khachatryan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.

It remains unclear which specific details Grigoryan considered defamatory towards his honor and dignity. It is possible that the lawsuit stems from comments made by Hamardzumyan during an interview with a media outlet, in which she stated, “Manvel has raped children.” She further claimed to have evidence to support her statements.

It is noteworthy that this is the second lawsuit filed against Hamardzumyan; former President Robert Kocharyan has also brought a case against her.
