Man Armed with a Machete Storms Bank: Failed Robbery Attempt at VTB

According to AuroraNews, police apprehended a citizen at the VTB bank branch on Baghramyan Avenue.

Reportedly, the bank was subjected to a failed robbery attempt. An individual armed with a machete attempted to commit theft.

The bank's press service has stated that police are currently working at the scene. A statement from the bank will be issued shortly.

Later, the police released an official statement noting: “On January 29, at 13:50, the Arabkir police received a report that a person armed with a machete had entered the VTB branch on Baghramyan Avenue. The officer from the Main Department of Police Protection, who was on duty at the branch, neutralized the man. He was subsequently apprehended by the arriving officers of the Arabkir police department. An investigation is underway.”
