Employees of Noragavit Customs Refuse to Work
The topic of incredibly high bonuses for the leadership of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) has sparked a wave of protests not only among the public but also within the SRC itself, reports 168.am.
According to the website's information, the employees of the Noragavit customs terminal refused to work from 9:00 to 10:30 the day after the bonuses were announced. They stated that under conditions of serving massive queues and working almost without days off, they had not received any kind of bonuses at the end of the year, while seeing online how much financial compensation the leadership of the SRC had received.
Nevertheless, realizing that the situation could escalate to a point where it would paralyze the customs operation altogether, the leadership persuaded the employees to work, with the condition that the bonus payments would be compensated this month. Additionally, since the employees of the Noragavit customs terminal also work on Saturdays, they were promised one day off to slightly calm the heated tempers.
However, it remains unclear why the head of the Noragavit customs, Armen Safaryan, was transferred to another position.
