Two Metro Stations and a Cable Car to Be Built in Yerevan, Says Arthur Meschyan
Yerevan plans to construct two metro stations. This was announced today during a press conference by the Chief Architect of Yerevan, Arthur Meschyan.
"We do not want to expand and look at this issue through the lens of future development trends, as significant financial costs are associated with these structures. We want to limit ourselves to the most strategic line—connecting the city with Ajapnyak, which will later extend to Davtashen, but that will be a bit later," he stated.
Meschyan highlighted another important strategic initiative, the construction of a cable car that will connect Noragavit with the city center. "The cable car can likely be implemented much faster, as it is financially more modest compared to the metro," he remarked.
According to him, these projects are very realistic. "I can say they are realistic; we just need to work. I believe that the Committee of Urban Development and the government will assist us in this matter, and we will be able to advance these crucial issues," Meschyan concluded.
