Prague Prosecutor's Office Receives Extradition Request for Narek Sargsyan
The Prague Prosecutor's Office has received the extradition request for Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, from the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office. This was reported by Aleš Cimbala, a representative of the city's supervisory authority, according to RIA Novosti.
“I can confirm that the Prague City Prosecutor's Office has received an official extradition request for Mr. Narek Sargsyan from the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office. Now, the relevant documents are to be examined. Only after that will a proposal be made regarding the admissibility or inadmissibility of the extradition,” he said.
Narek Sargsyan was detained in Prague in December 2018. In Armenia, he is accused of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
