Mikoyan Street Will Not Be Renamed After Dink: The Project Has Been Withdrawn
Ani Khachatryan, a member of the Yerevan Council from the 'Lus' faction, who had previously announced the renaming of Anastas Mikoyan Street to honor journalist, writer, and publicist Hrant Dink, has just reported that the relevant project has been withdrawn by its author.
"I had just posted that the committees of the Yerevan Council would discuss the project to rename Anastas Mikoyan Street in the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan in honor of human rights defender Hrant Dink, but I was informed that there is a legal obstacle in the project, and the author has withdrawn the draft... We hope to erase Mikoyan's name from Yerevan soon..." Khachatryan wrote.
