Nazarbayev Supports Belarusian Candidate in CSTO

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has announced that during a meeting in Saint Petersburg, the leaders of CSTO member states decided to endorse the candidacy of Belarusian representative Stanislav Zas for the position of Secretary General of the organization.

This was reported by ria.ru, citing Nazarbayev's press service.

"You have already begun meeting with the leaders of CSTO countries. You have already been in Bishkek. As it is known, Kyrgyzstan holds the presidency of the CSTO. I am confident that your meetings have gone well," Nazarbayev said during a meeting with Zas.

Nazarbayev also stated that Zas possesses all the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the position of CSTO Secretary General. "We will support you," the President of Kazakhstan stated.
