700 Million AMD Obligation to the Ministry of Defense Unfulfilled. Military Prosecutor’s Office Warns
The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia has conducted investigations revealing that obligations amounting to approximately 700 million AMD, undertaken in various contracts between the Ministry of Defense and supplying organizations, have not been fulfilled.
Significantly, despite having provided more than 620 million AMD as an advance payment under four various contracts, which total 1 billion 317 million AMD, the obligations under these contracts have still not been met, amounting to roughly 230 million AMD.
In consideration of protecting state property interests and based on the requirements of Article 29 of the Law on the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia, relevant warnings have been sent to the economic entities involved in all cases.
Failure to fulfill the contractual obligations, where 100% of the contract price was advanced, and the lack of effective measures taken by the relevant officials of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, as well as the failure to initiate the termination process of the contract according to established procedures, are all under scrutiny. Furthermore, potential instances of official misconduct in these processes are being examined, aiming to determine the extent of damage caused to the state and clarify the circle of individuals responsible, in order to provide a legal assessment of their actions. The documents from the investigation have been sent to the Main Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for further preparation of materials and resolution of subsequent proceedings.
