Hotline to Operate During Parliamentary Elections
The Public Council attached to the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia plans to be involved in ensuring public oversight of the police’s activities during the early parliamentary elections set for December 9.
Specifically, on the day of the elections, throughout the entire period of voting and the summarization of the results, members of the Public Council will take shifts at the central apparatus of the police and will serve the hotline that has been established for this purpose (tel. 010-54-41-22).
The Public Council will focus on all reports that exclusively concern actions or inactions of police officers, including illegal actions by police officers on duty at polling places or instances of behavior inappropriate for an officer, as well as cases of unlawful actions against police officers.
If necessary, representatives of the on-call group of the Public Council will respond quickly to incidents depending on the importance and urgency of the received reports, including going to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incidents and promptly informing the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia.
