One Dead in Protests in Marseille: BFMTV
An 80-year-old woman has died during the "Yellow Vests" movement protests in Marseille, France, reportedly due to injuries caused by tear gas, according to BFMTV citing its sources. The incident occurred on Sunday.
It is noteworthy that protests against rising fuel prices have been ongoing in France for about three weeks. Following unprecedented unrest last Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron instructed the government to initiate dialogue with the protesters.
Earlier reports indicated that at least 100 emergency service workers had also joined the demonstrators.
