Is Bribery Being Distributed in Shirak and Kotayk Regions? Police to Clarify
The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has responded to claims made by Stepan Grigoryan, a candidate nominated for deputy from the electoral list of the Sasna Tsrer party, regarding the distribution of bribes in the Shirak and Kotayk regions.
“Today, several media outlets reported on the statement made by Stepan Grigoryan, who was nominated as a candidate for deputy from the proportional list of the Sasna Tsrer All-Armenian Party. According to press releases, he stated that they have information about the commencement of the bribery distribution process in the Shirak and Kotayk regions,” the public relations department of the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
They reminded that Grigoryan had reported receiving alarming information recently, as citizens had informed them that the bribe distribution process had started. “I don’t think it will be on a large scale; you know that Nikol Pashinyan also expressed concern regarding one incident. We have received such information from Gyumri and in Kotayk region. I urge the police to closely monitor those political forces,” he said.
