Emergency Workers Join Protests in Paris
Protests continue in Paris as at least 100 emergency workers have blocked central roads. Ambulances have parked at Place de la Concorde and on a nearby bridge, not far from the National Assembly building. Medical personnel have activated the sound alarms of their vehicles and have blocked access to Rue de Rivoli.
Healthcare workers demand the repeal of a new law regarding the funding of social security and medical transport. According to the protesters, the new law favors large transport companies, as smaller companies will be unable to compete due to pricing policies.
It is worth noting that protests against rising fuel prices have been ongoing in France for about three weeks. Following unprecedented riots on Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron has instructed the government to initiate dialogue with the protesters.
