Armenia Has Almost Stopped Buying Watermelons from Georgia: From 638 Tons to Just 5.4 Tons
Watermelon exports from Georgia have sharply decreased this year, local media reports. In the first six months of 2026, 67.4 tons of products worth a total of $33.6 thousand were supplied from Georgia. This is a 91% reduction in volume compared to the same period in 2025, with the value indicator dropping by 88% as well.
There has also been a significant decrease in export volumes to Armenia. During the first half of 2025, 638.3 tons of watermelon worth $221.3 thousand were exported, whereas during the same period this year, that figure has plummeted to just 5.4 tons, with a total value of $7.3 thousand.
