Russian Defense Ministry Reports Striking Two Cargo Ships in Odesa and Mykolaiv Ports
Russian military forces have targeted two cargo ships that, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, were transporting military cargo for the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. This was reported by TASS, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The first ship was destroyed in the Odesa port. Military supply depots were also obliterated in the same location. The second cargo ship was struck in the Mykolaiv port.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the strikes were carried out using precision weapons and drones.
On the morning of August 17, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces struck a logistics center of the "Nova Poshta" company located in the western outskirts of Odesa. Additionally, Russian forces targeted a drone storage facility in the Dnipropetrovsk region and a temporary deployment point of the Ukrainian armed forces in Dobropillia.
During the past night, Russian armed forces used drones to strike the docking terminal of the Izmail port, which, according to Russian claims, was used for unloading maritime vessels transporting military cargo.
Furthermore, in the Odesa port, Russian military officials destroyed a "Tarantul" class patrol boat, which, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, was providing security for maritime vessels during transportation and unloading. Fuel storage facilities were also targeted.
