Trump Announces Response from Kim Jong-un on Dialogue Proposal
US President Donald Trump has announced that he has received a response from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un regarding his proposal to start a dialogue. He made this statement on August 17 during a press briefing at the White House.
When reporters asked why Kim Jong-un had not yet responded to his proposal, Trump replied, “How do you know he hasn’t responded?”
The US President assured that he had received a response from the North Korean leader, positively assessing the nature of the dialogue. Earlier, Trump had announced his intention to resume dialogue with Kim Jong-un, emphasizing that he continues to have “very good relations” with the North Korean leader.
It was also reported that Trump has instructed the head of the Pentagon to significantly reduce the scale of joint military exercises with South Korea in order not to send “hostile signals” to Pyongyang.
