Three Remarkable Astronomical Events Expected Today
Today marks a genuine celestial marathon. This was reported by Levon Azizyan, director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
From August 12-13, three remarkable astronomical events are set to occur simultaneously.
Parade of Six Planets
Before dawn, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn, and Neptune will appear in the sky at the same time. It is best to start observing a few hours before sunrise.
Total Solar Eclipse
On August 12, the Moon will pass between Earth and the Sun, completely covering the solar disc in certain areas. The maximum phase of the eclipse will occur at 21:47 Yerevan time. The path of totality will cross Greenland, Iceland, Spain, the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean, and some regions of northern Russia. In several European countries, it will be seen as a partial eclipse. The width of the total eclipse path will reach about 294 km, with the maximum duration of totality lasting around 2 minutes and 18 seconds. Armenia will not be located within either the total or partial eclipse path.
Peak of Perseid Meteor Shower
