According to reports, the Food Safety Inspection Body initiated a control measure at the Bamboo bar-restaurant (located at 2/2 Freedom Avenue, Yerevan) based on information received from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Following meals at this public catering establishment, three individuals were hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of ‘acute gastrointestinal infection’.

“During the inspection, it was determined that the bar-restaurant was not adhering to the sanitary-hygienic norms established by legal regulations. Specifically, certain areas of the kitchen lacked smooth surfaces, were not maintained in a renovated condition, and were constructed from waterproof, non-absorbent, washable, and disinfectable materials. The ceilings and upper structures in certain areas were not designed to prevent or reduce the accumulation of dirt and the potential for particle fallout. Additionally, the food processing tables and refrigerator shelves, which are in direct contact with food, were not made from materials that meet hygiene requirements,” the statement from the Food Safety Inspection Body noted.

The restaurant's production activities have been suspended, and a deadline has been set for the identified violations to be rectified. Samples of the food items available at the public catering site have been taken for laboratory testing; results will be published,” the message added.
