The European Union will provide Ukraine with 1.4 billion euros generated from the revenues of frozen Russian state assets. This was announced by the European Commission.

According to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, these funds will support Ukraine's continued resistance.

“Russia must pay for the devastation it has caused. We are using the revenue from frozen Russian assets to ensure this. We are allocating an additional 1.4 billion euros to Ukraine, which will aid the country's ongoing resistance against Russia's unlawful war,” von der Leyen stated on the X social network.

According to the European Commission, the amount transferred to the EU budget on August 3 was formed from the interest accrued on the cash reserves of frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia in Europe.
