The U.S. Imposes Two-Year Sanctions on Several Russian Defense Ministry Entities
The U.S. has imposed new sanctions on several divisions, companies, and individuals associated with the Russian Ministry of Defense. The established measures prohibit U.S. government agencies from acquiring goods, technologies, or services from them, selling military-related products, granting licenses, or providing any support. These restrictions will remain in effect for two years.
According to Interfax, the sanctions are based on violations of American laws regarding non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, particularly linked to Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
The sanctions list includes the Russian ground forces, the Ministry of Defense’s main missile and artillery directorate, the directorate for prospective interspecific research and special projects, as well as the 1061st Material Technical Support Center. Additional sanctions have also been imposed on the companies “Gideon Alpha” and “International Invest Company,” along with five Russian citizens.
