Two Individuals Charged with Acquiring 10 kg of Marijuana Through Telegram Detained
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that, based on data obtained during the pre-trial investigation, two individuals, S.P. and H.P., followed an instruction from a user involved in drug trafficking via Telegram and went to a specified location to retrieve approximately 10 kg of marijuana.
According to the Investigative Committee, they were unable to complete the alleged crime as they were arrested by employees of the National Security Service of Armenia.
During a search conducted at S.P.'s residence, marijuana intended for sale, electronic scales, self-adhesive tapes, and polyethylene packages were discovered and seized.
The Investigative Committee has charged S.P. with attempting the illegal turnover or sale of drugs in especially large quantities, as well as possession of drugs with the intent to distribute. H.P. has been charged with attempting the illegal turnover or sale of drugs in especially large quantities.
Pre-trial detention has been applied as a measure of constraint against them. The criminal proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request for approval and submission to the court.
Note: An individual charged with a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code, by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
