Representatives of the "Wings of Unity" party, Liparit Drmeyan, has announced that the statements made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference the previous day do not correspond to reality and tarnish his honor and dignity. He stated that he has filed a civil lawsuit in court to defend his rights.

"I have filed a lawsuit demanding the retraction of defamatory statements. This concerns all expressions relating to my obligations during the arbitration process and the alleged conflict of interest. During the press conference, even quotes from the 'Iliad' and 'Odyssey' were cited. These statements and the presented facts do not correspond to reality and were made in a context that defames my honor and dignity," Drmeyan said.

According to him, he has not yet demanded monetary compensation from the Prime Minister, but he did not rule out the possibility of making additional demands during the trial. "At this moment, I have only presented a demand to compel the retraction of the statements. Legislation allows for changes to the basis and subject of the lawsuit or for additional claims to be added later. During the process, it will become clear whether I will also present a monetary claim," he noted.

Drmeyan emphasized that he has chosen the legal path and is prepared for a long struggle. "I am not saying random words. My hands are clean, and my conscience is calm. I am ready to achieve through legal means the retraction of the defamatory statements made against me. There cannot be tyranny in Armenia, but we are heading directly down that path," he declared.

Drmeyan also mentioned that in the opinion of himself and his colleagues, the Prime Minister's statements may be related to his opposition activities and particularly to the party's active stance following the elections. He noted that the Administrative Court of Appeal is still considering the issue of accepting the lawsuit against the decision of the Central Electoral Commission.

It is worth noting that Liparit Drmeyan is a former acting head of the Office of the Representative for International Legal Affairs.
