Betting in Armenia Should Be Prohibited: Arakelyan

“The country of living” party co-founder Mesrop Arakelyan has stated: “For over ten years, I have been saying that one of the main evils in our society is betting, which causes various tragedies in thousands of families—suicides, severe financial losses, mental health issues, and more. The increasing volumes year after year have already become a matter of national security.

And what is the government doing? Cosmetic legislative changes that do not in any way limit the problems and sometimes even increase the volumes. Today, Nikol Pashinyan announced that one of the main reasons for suicides in the army is betting.

Betting should be prohibited in Armenia, and that’s it. Any compromise or delay in this matter means accepting further tragedies. All that is needed for the prohibition of betting in Armenia is political will, nothing more. Dear compatriots, are you in favor of banning betting so that we can free ourselves from this widespread evil?”
