VIDEO: 'Freedom, freedom' - Protest Held in Front of Presidential Palace
A protest was held in front of the Presidential Palace amid a meeting of EU officials. 'All authoritarian leaders try to act tough outside, but Nikol is the only one who is authoritarian only within his own country, as this regime is occupying,' stated Armen Ashotyan, Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia.
The police removed Ashotyan and the participants from in front of the presidential residence. The protesters chanted 'Freedom, freedom' as EU officials exited the presidential palace.
'We are speaking here on behalf of the silenced political prisoners. We are here to speak for all those who have been subjected to torture, who are facing political persecution, and whose freedom of speech is restricted,' they said.
