Merkel Expresses Public Discontent: The US and Israel Have Failed
Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the effectiveness of the actions taken by Washington and Tel Aviv regarding the ongoing situation surrounding Iran. In a televised statement, the high-ranking official admitted that his disappointment is rooted in unmet expectations, as the parties had initially assured a swift resolution to the matter.
The head of government stated that the United States and Israel had previously insisted that the issue could be settled within a matter of days. However, current realities indicate that the conflict is still far from a definitive solution, prompting a reevaluation of approaches.
Merz emphasized that Berlin and the European Union need to develop their own strategies and ideas to overcome the regional tensions. According to him, Europe should have an independent approach to conflict resolution, rather than being limited to solutions proposed by allies.
At the same time, the German Chancellor added that despite existing disagreements, his country will not cease its diplomatic efforts. Germany will continue to work on international platforms, coordinating its actions with the United States.
